Ron is a senior systems management practitioner with over 37 years experience in information systems.
Following university training in electrical engineering and mathematics, Ron worked in electronics manufacturing for General Electric and IBM. Moving to Ottawa, he spent 10 years with a large international remote-access service bureau (Systems Dimensions Limited). This environment provided progressive careers in technical support, application development, data communications and value-added product development.
Moving to Western Canada, Ron joined a national consulting firm (Gellman Hayward) spending another ten years as a consultant, rising to the position of Managing Partner for Western Canada.
Ron has often served as speaker on contemporary systems management issues in both business and information technology forums. His written work on similar subjects is regularly carried in both the trade and popular press.
Ron has earned the designation of Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and also recently completed a course of studies in Negotiating (Harvard University).
In 1991, Ron established his own consulting firm, Gilmore Systems, Inc. He restricts his geographic area of practice primarily to Western Canada. Ron continues to speak, write, teach and consult on critical issues of information systems management.
Ron is a citizen of Canada. He holds a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba and a M.Math degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Ron is a member of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Alberta.
In 1993, Ron joined Hrvoje Lukatela and John Russell as a principal and Vice President of Marketing for Geodyssey Limited.
